Luis Polanco Unveils Adobe's Cross-OS Runtime – Codename: "Apollo"

Adobe's next-generation client, codenamed "Apollo," will extend the reach and capabilities of today's rich Internet applications (RIAs), freeing them to run outside the browser, on desktops. Luis Polanco (pictured), product manager for Apollo told the audience at 'Real-World Flex' in New York City today. Polanco showed how RIAs for the desktop will in the future be able to be built using Apoloo 1.0 in conjunction with familiar web development technologies including HTML, AJAX, Flash, as well as Flex. Adobe Extends Flash Ecosystem with Media Player

(April 15, 2007) - Adobe Systems has announced the Adobe Media Player at the NAB show in Las Vegas. “This desktop application expands Adobe's Internet video solutions, adding to an emerging ecosystem that enables new ways to distribute and monetize media, while helping viewers discover and view high-quality content both online and offline,” according to company information.
